I use it on the patio in Naples, Florida. With the three cold spells that came down in December, 2010, I realized I had to turn it on well in advance of planning to sit ouside for it to warm enough to be comfortable in low 40 degree weather.

    Took the product outside and turned it to HIGH and nothing. It heats poorly, dont recommend it at all. Instead buy a gas patio heater.

        I bought this heater instead of a gas one becuase I have eight-foot ceilings on my patio and needed the proper clearance. This heater throws VERY LITTLE HEAT. You have to be directly under it to get any heat at all, and this is in Phoenix when it is only 60 degrees out in the evening. I am very disappointed and wish I had spent the money on a propane heater and just set it outside of the covered patio.
